The title of the best DAF truck driver in Romania was extremely contested, with the 5 competitors proving that they fully deserve their place in the final. The monitoring of the tests and the scoring of the participants was supervised by Bart Jan Minderhout, Competence and Knowledge manager at DAF Trucks NV and by the driver trainers of EVW Holding. The tasks received by the 5 finalists were to test their skills, executing a side angle parking in an extremely small space or to verify their ability to maneuver a DAF XF truck in a slalom test.

Because every drop of fuel counts, one of the tests had the role of highlighting their abilities to optimally exploit the DAF truck provided by the organizers.

The theoretical part was not neglected, so the 5 finalists had to answer questions based on the information found in the driver's manual, unforeseen situations that may arise in traffic, the safety and comfort systems offered by DAF Trucks, and questions related to current legislation in European freight transport.
