Hybrid electric vehicles.
The perfect solution.
DAF
Hybrid.
The DAF CF Hybrid trucks are equipped with a 10.8 l PACCAR MX-11 diesel engine and a ZF electric motor integrated with a special ZF TraXon gearbox for hybrid transmissions.
The electric motor is powered by an 85 kWh battery that is recharged when the diesel engine is in use. When the battery is fully charged, the truck – depending on the total weight – has an electric range of up to 50 kilometers, which is more than enough to travel in and out of urban areas.
HEV or hybrid electric vehicles – combine the best of both worlds: fully electric in urban areas and clean diesel technology anywhere else. DAF has tested this very promising technology and it has the great advantage of being adaptable to almost any situation.
Compatible with
mains voltage.
Marcel Pater (Peter Appel Transport):
“Together with our client, Albert Heijn, we are always looking for ways to reduce our CO₂ footprint.
In the city we are now fully electric, thanks to the DAF CF Hybrid, and the truck’s diesel engine means it can travel seamlessly to and from the various distribution centres.”

Compliance with stricter regulations
regarding emissions.
From 2025, several European cities will allow access to city centers only to commercial vehicles with zero carbon emissions.
For heavy and medium trucks that do most of their mileage outside urban areas, hybrid technology is the perfect solution to this restriction.
Fully electric driving ensures zero emissions in urban centers, while clean diesel technology offers maximum autonomy and flexibility outside cities.
History of technology
DAF Hybrid.
DAF has a long history in hybrid technology. In 2010, it developed the LF Hybrid, which had a pure electric range of 2 kilometers.
Our experimental XF Hybrid model was developed in 2012 and was capable of driving 1.5 kilometers in pure electric mode.
The DAF Convenient, named after an EU-funded project in 2016, was a hybrid test vehicle that achieved improved fuel efficiency and an all-electric driving range of 3 to 6 kilometers.
In 2017, the EU EcoChamps project produced a hybrid with improved fuel efficiency and a fully electric driving range of 10 kilometres, at reduced costs and weight.
