DAF delivers 879 military trucks to Belgium!

DAF received a large order from the Belgian Armed Forces.

The order includes the delivery and maintenance of 879 four-wheel drive CF military trucks. The delivery of the first vehicles is planned for 2022, and the last vehicles will be produced in 2025.

The order for 879 CF military trucks includes 636 2-axle trucks with 4x4 transmission. These vehicles will be used as general cargo carriers. In addition, DAF will supply 243 4-axle trucks with 8x8 transmission for a variety of applications (dumpers, container carriers and cranes).

Unparalleled off-road capabilities

For the CF military models, DAF works closely with the renowned TATRA TRUCKS from the Czech Republic, resulting in a unique chassis concept with world-class transmission, central tube and independent suspension of the half-axles. This gives the CF military vehicles unrivalled off-road capabilities and exceptional driver comfort, even when driving on the most difficult terrain. The trucks are powered by the PACCAR MX-11 (4×4) and MX-13 (8×8) 10.8 and 12.9 litre engines with outputs from 300 kW/410 hp to 340 kW/460 hp.

DAF has chosen HIAB as supplier for all hooklift systems and load handling cranes and VS-Mont to supply the tipping bodies. The cargo bodies will be produced by Porgest. In total, 352 CF military vehicles will be delivered with a state-of-the-art ballistic cabin, supplied by TATRA DEFENCE VEHICLE.

Cabins made in Belgium

The production of the CF military truck cabins will take place at the DAF cabin factory in Westerlo, Belgium. The engines come from the DAF engine factory in Eindhoven, the Netherlands. The chassis will be produced at the TATRA TRUCKS plant in the Czech Republic.
