DAF celebrates 250,000th Super Space Cab by launching a special edition
250,000 vehicles equipped with the most comfortable cabin on the market have already been sold.
DAF Trucks launches the XF Super Space Cab Special Edition. With this luxurious and specially decorated version of the most comfortable truck cab currently available on the market, DAF marks the production of 250,000 DAF XF trucks equipped with the Super Space Cab. The special edition offers drivers a luxurious interior that includes, among other things, the cognac brown leather interior package as standard.
"How can we offer drivers the highest level of comfort?" This question led to the inauguration of the DAF 3600 Space Cab in 1985, with which DAF set a new standard among truck cabs, in terms of interior space and therefore comfort offered to drivers, thanks to the high roof. And in 1994, DAF took this concept even further, launching the Super Space Cab version, with which it raised the standards on the market even further.
The ideal place for the driver on the go
The cab of the latest DAF XF truck model, equipped with the Super Space Cab, is the ideal place for the on-the-go driver to work, live and sleep — unrivalled in terms of ergonomics, splendidly decorated and exceptionally spacious. The cab has a volume of 12.6 m3, making it the most spacious truck cab on the market. The Super Space Cab model fitted to the XF also has an interior height of 2.23 m and offers 925 l of storage space. Two generous beds are installed in the cab, the lower one being 80 cm wide and 2.2 m long, and the high mattress is already standard. So it is no wonder that half of all DAF XF truck orders are for those equipped with the Super Space Cab.
The special edition of the Super Space Cab is available for the 4×2 FT and 6×2 FTG tractor variants, as well as for all chassis configurations. As engine options, there is a choice between the PACCAR MX-11 engine with 330 kW/450 hp or the PACCAR MX-13 engine, in the 355 kW/480 hp or 390 kW/530 hp versions.
The way this “special edition” has been decorated is country-specific: the available versions have been configured to take into account the local customer’s preferences, but each Holiday Edition features an Exclusive interior design, including the cognac brown leather package. And the beds are all equipped with the 15 cm high DAF mattress, to ensure maximum sleeping comfort. In addition, the standard equipment of this special version includes the DAF TNR navigation system, the most complete climate control system, including the operation function on the rear wall of the cab, as well as the impressively spacious refrigerator offered by DAF.
