DAF International Truck Services (ITS)

From breakdowns on the route to personal assistance during transport, the ITS service is your travel partner.

ITS works with specially trained technicians for emergency interventions at the scene of the incident. ITS provides a payment guarantee and consequently the driver will not have to carry cash on him, TH Trucks taking over the settlement formalities between the company benefiting from the service and DAF Trucks NV

ITS also provides assistance in breakdowns involving semi-trailers. ITS provides alternative transport service if the breakdown cannot be repaired on site.

TS provides the repair or service you need and ensures payment for the intervention. For this, it is extremely important to contact your local DAF Dealer. Given that ITS does not operate with credit cards, your local Dealer becomes the guarantor of the payment. The level of the guarantee depends on the level of the repair to be performed. Experience has taught us that outside of normal working hours, a payment of €700 is required for an initial diagnosis or a temporary repair. ITS will issue an invoice to your local Dealer, who will pay the corresponding costs and will then invoice the ITS intervention requester.

The caller to the ITS service is the customer requesting the intervention. Therefore, the responsibility for the quality and/or costs of the repair lies neither with TH Trucks nor with the ITS organization, but with the DAF dealer performing the work and the customer signing for the receipt of the work.

The ITS service is mediated by the TH Trucks Dealer and does not guarantee any errors by dealers outside the country who perform the repairs. The costs of the ITS interventions will be fully borne by the person using this service, regardless of any claims that may arise later.

Old spare parts

If after the repair you want to take the old parts with you, you are free to do so. It is recommended to take photos of the replaced parts. However, please note that if the parts in question are part of the DAF exchange program (remanufactured parts), the local Dealer will have to charge a storage fee. If your vehicle is still under warranty at the time of repair, and you insist on keeping the old parts, your DAF Dealer will not be able to make a warranty claim on DAF Trucks.

ITS repairs under warranty

In the event that ITS repairs fall under the general warranty conditions of DAF Trucks NV, you will need to make it known that you wish to use the warranty conditions when you contact the Service point and you will need to provide proof of the validity of the warranty at the DAF Dealer (Europeana Warranty Manual with all up-to-date revisions according to the manufacturer's prescriptions).

If the Dealer determines that this repair is a warranty case, in accordance with the applicable warranty conditions of DAF Trucks, then the DAF Dealer will cover part of the costs involved in the warranty repair and will issue an invoice only for those items that are not covered by the warranty.

Detailed details regarding costs that are or are not covered by the warranty terms are included in the Warranty Manual delivered with each customer's vehicle (e.g. exclusions: consumable parts; difference in rate for labor performed outside normal working hours, Saturday, Sunday or public holidays; DAVIE XD© diagnosis, telephone costs, TAXI, etc.)

If the warranty status decision is made at a later date, you may receive a recalculation as a result of the total or partial rejection of the repair performed during the warranty period. This is why an ITS repair requires a full guarantee of payment for the repair performed under warranty.

ITS complaint procedure

If, following an ITS repair, the same fault recurs after a certain period of time, we ask you to inform your DAF Dealer as soon as the fault reoccurs. Your Dealer will take the necessary measures to start an investigation as soon as possible.

If you believe that you have not been properly assisted, please notify your Dealer in writing as soon as possible. The Dealer will be able to forward your complaint to DAF Trucks NV, which will investigate the case and come back with the correct solutions. TH Trucks' consideration of your complaints does not exempt you, as the beneficiary of the repairs, from paying the invoice for the ITS intervention.
